Descripción
Sumario:Campo de Calatrava is a natural region which combines three basic structural elements: the paleozoic base, the Tertiary and Quaternary sedimentary basins and volcanism. This is the main component which gives a remarkable and uniqueness geomorphologic character. Recent works of GEOVOL Researching Group (Department of Geography and Regional Planning, Faculty of Letters, UCLM), about the chronology of the volcanism in Campo de Calatrava, have been recognized by Smithsonian Institute (Museum of Natural History, USA) and Campo de Calatrava Volcanic Region has been included in its Global Volcanism Program, created for the study of active volcanic areas. Student interaction with the environment is one of the pillars of the teaching and learning, both for itself and for its scientific value and conservation. Therefore, this article aims to raise awareness of the educational space that, through the teaching route by the most emblematic buildings of the modern study area. We have also attempted to establish an interdisciplinary, combining historical and physical (landforms) criteria.
