Resumo:In this article, we present a proposal of classroom activities for Secondary Education (12- 16 years old) from COVID-19, based on a theoretical foundation on probability literacy. In the first part, we describe knowledge that secondary education teachers must mobilize for an adequate understanding of probability and, additionally, to promote probabilistic literacy, considering the aim of probability and its relation to both descriptive and inferential statistics. From this vision, the different approaches (intuitive, classic, frequentist, subjective and axiomatic) that are included within the Probability Theory are addressed. In the second part, four classroom experiences considering COVID-19 data are presented to promote the acquisition of this knowledge. It is concluded that probabilistic literacy, together with statistical and data literacy, contributes to train citizens with critical thinking and, above all, aware of the role that each one plays in society and in global wellbeing
