Sumario:Several sections have been studied in western Cuba in order to date the sediments derived of the nearby Yucatan meteorite impact event. The sections of Peñalver, Minas, La Victoria, La Yuca, Santa Isabel, Cacarajicara and Moneada contain thick sediments along the Cretaceous-Tertiary transition, showing clear evidence of a large meteorite impact. The Chronostratigraphy of the Via Blanca, Peñalver, Cacarajicara, Moneada and Apolo Formations have been revised, placing the K/T boundary at the base of the Peñalver, Cacarajicara and Moneada formations. Planktic foraminifera of the Via Blanca Formation allowed to date the uppermost autochtonous sediments as P. hantkeninoides Biozone (latest Maastrichtian)
