Análisis cuantitativo de los foraminíferos planctónicos del Paleoceno en Zumaya: implicaciones paleoambientales y eventos paleoceanográficos

Quantitative analysis of Paleocene planktic foraminifera at the Zumaya section indicates that this area belonged to temperate waters, as suggested by an average of 34.1% low latitude species. Three relatively warmer intervals have been recognized (top of Parasubbotina pseudobuHoid es Biozone, base o...

Sumario:Quantitative analysis of Paleocene planktic foraminifera at the Zumaya section indicates that this area belonged to temperate waters, as suggested by an average of 34.1% low latitude species. Three relatively warmer intervals have been recognized (top of Parasubbotina pseudobuHoid es Biozone, base of Morozoveiia anguiata Biozone and middle part of Morozoveiia veiascoensis Biozone) and two relatively co o le r intervals (base of Acarinina trinidadensis Biozone and middle part of Morozovella anguiata Biozone), in the cold interval of M . anguiata B iozon e se ve ra l p e a k s o f Chiloguembelina have been found, with indicate the existence o f an expan ded oxygen minimum zone.
