Descripción
Sumario:Research indicates that certain cultural and attitudinal factors contribute to the persistence of dating violence. This study analyzes the prevalence of victims and perpetrators of dating violence using data from the Youth and Gender Barometer, in a sample of young people aged 15 to 29 residing in Spain (N = 787; 52.9% women). The results reveal that the percentage of victims and perpetrators is high, with the prevalence of female victims being higher than that of males. Additionally, significant associations are found between having experienced and/or perpetrated dating violence and the acceptance of romantic love myths, negative attitudes towards feminism, and the normalization of gender-based violence. This study provides data on this form of violence in Spain and offers valuable information for designing interventions aimed at preventing dating violence.
