| Sumario: | Getting acquainted with a foreign culture doesn’t mean having to memorise facts about the target country. In order to solve communication problems, both cultural and linguistic, in other words in order to learn a language, the learner needs to become aware of the cultural identity of the other. It helps him to understand the person he communicates with. A task-based approach offers a methodology which enables the learner to acquire the target language and the culture in which the language is embedded in a natural way. It takes away a heavy burden from the teacher: he doesn’t have to motivate the learners, they will motivate themselves by setting and taking up authentic challenges which give them a direct impact on their own life, and by rediscovering the joy of learning. |
