Descripción
Sumario:The article analyzes the image of the foreigners portrayed in the major works in Roman dialect of the18th century. After the stereotyped portrays of Carletti and Micheli, very similar to those of seventeenth-century authors, the imminent entry of the French in Rome rekindles the rancor of the people of Trastevere towards everything was not Roman. In the anonymous Misogallo romano, the French, the Jews (who had been targeted for centuries,) and even the Neapolitans are heavily attacked.
