Descripción
Sumario:At this paper, some quarry marks and carving lines are presented. They have been observed on materials coming from the so-called Provincial Forum at Tarraco. The aim of this article is to propose a reconstruction of the workshop’s activity and organisation when building this Tarraco’s imperial monument, outlining the tasks featuring the building process, both from the project to the elaboration of artifacts and from the quarry to the monument. After several studies focused on recording and cataloguing architectural artefacts, it is possible now to go forward trying to understand, even if partially, the organisation and transfer of knowledge inside the workshops responsible for the construction of Roman monuments. With this regard, the case of the Provincial Forum is particularly emblematic because of its quality and amount of material preserved as well as because of the complexity of a cantiere, working for a timeframe longer than a century.
