Descripción
Sumario:[EN] This article presents the virtual reconstruction of the utopian city of New Babylon, designed by the artist Constant Nieuwenhuys between 1959 and 1974. Despite Constant s artistic approach, New Babylon became a reference for architects and urban planners in the post-war period, due to the concepts it conveyed. Following the compilation of the original documentation, an accurate virtual model of a sector of New Babylon has been generated. The new documentation has made it possible to carry out an analysis of the city, completing the vision that Constant expressed through his models, drawings and texts. The model has been exported to a virtual reality system. The use of realtime rendering engines has made it possible to visit the utopian city in first person through a non-linear experience.
