Sumario:One of the areas of organizational management is excellent process management. The objectives of this research work are to extend and elaborate on the notion of process management, to generate a model of process management and to empirically assess the extent of use of process management in a sample of Catalan organizations. The fieldwork, administered to companies that use a process management system, evaluates managers' perceptions about the influence of the process management system in use on the results of the organization. The methodology used in the research is based on a survey with a questionnaire administered to 102 organizations. The data is analyzed with various statistical procedures and contrasts in order to answer to 5 propositions and 1hypothesis. The results provide a structure of the concept of Process Management, collect the most relevant techniques of this concept and show the impact of the implementation of process management system in the performance of organizations.
