| Sumario: | [EN] This article analyzes some of the "disputed issues" surrounding the "travel literature": the dichotomy between fact and fiction in these stories (especially in the Middle Ages and Early Modern Period), the boundaries it establishes with other genres (especially in the Spanish Golden Age) and the distinct modes of transmission used throughout history (memoirs, letters, diaries, etc.). This selection of controversial points will allow us to define more precisely the characteristics of the travel literature genre. |
