Descrição
Resumo:This article examines issues and developments in Marx's Critique of Political Economy in order to approach the problem of gender in capitalism. To this end, it analyses the specificity of capitalist domination, the limits of Marx's critique to address gender issues and its potential development from the relationship between the reproduction of labour power and social totality. Along the same lines, the article critically exposes the developments of Marx's critique that Endnotes and R. Scholz have carried out in order to examine the internal relation between gender and capital. These proposals suggest the existence of an other of value that is materially and symbolically linked to the categories of woman and femininity. The article ultimately tries to think about the specificity of gender oppression in capitalism and the form it takes today.
