| Sumario: | Between the 1950s and 1960s occurred in Uruguay a general renovation of historical studies that influenced the investigations related to the past of Catholicism. Research focused on specific problems was gradually implemented and conveniently planned by professional historians. In this article I analyze the configuration of the new historiography of the Church. My intention is to review the changes occurring in historical production (studies) from the essays of revisionist stamp of the 1960s, to the academic research of the twenty-first century. |
