Descripción
Sumario:The article provides an overview of the development of historiography concerning the Catholic Church of Argentina since the 1960’s. The authors have paid particular attention to changes that were introduced in the perspectives and methods from the 1980s onwards, when the Catholic Church and Catholicism began to be valued as an object of study in the academic field and analyzed according to a method excluding religion. The text is divided into two parts: the first one is devoted to studies of colonial history and the nineteenth century, and the second one to the twentieth century.
