Sumario:In this article, an intranational comparative analysis is carried out on the existing data in relation to residential care measures for minors in Spain. To this end, an analysis and comparative study of the general Spanish situation and four selected autonomous communities has been carried out according to the criterion that the calculation of the total sum of minors who are part of the protection system in Spain in a measure of residential care represents in those four communities more than the total of Spanish minors who are in residential care).The purpose of this research is to know and analyze data provided in the statistical data bulletins on child protection measures in Spain with the time limit of 2015-2020, the date of the last publication of the bulletins. For the elaboration of this research, the phases of the comparative method developed by Caballero et al. (2016), where it has been possible to observe the increase in residential care measures in Spain over the years, the existence of significant differences between Autonomous Communities and the low visibility of this issue.Child protection must be guaranteed (Fernández Del Valle et al.,2009; Llosada-Gistau, et al., 2019) and deepen and investigate the functioning and shortcomings of the Spanish residential care system (Fernández et al., 2018), De la Herrán et al., 2008) to improve it
