Sumario:[EN] The behavior of a Hydraulic Turbomachine includes several coupled processes, which are in general not instantaneous, and require speci c periods of time for achieving their final status. Since a relevant quantity of Engineering students shows a trend towards the two-dimensionality, avoiding the transient evolutions,a teaching approach to the learning of transient processes is proposed in this work. Di erent hydraulic characteristic times, which linking to the control and dynamic simulation of the turbomachine performance, are identi ed and calculated. The purpose is to facilitate that the student was able to signi cantlylearn, with metacognitive capacity, the operation and use of the complete model of a Hydroelectric PowerPlant, which MatLab incorporates in a Simulink Toolbox
