Sumario:[EN] The operation of hydraulic turbomachines is based on the modification of the mechanical energy of fluid which is passing through the machine. In fact, changes of fluid velocity components produce a relevant variation of angular momentum through the rotor, which achieves the main exchange of hydraulic head in the machine (given by the Euler's Equation) Thus, the so-called velocity triangles reveals as the geometrical and kinematic modelling for the learning of the problem by students. This work describes the teaching use of MATLAB for the understanding of velocity triangles.
