| Sumario: | The Newsroom is one of the most recognized journalistic referents of popular cul-ture. This work seeks to identify the connection of audiovisual fiction with journalistic routines, news values and professional roles. For this, the research analyzes the multi-modal discourse of this TV drama from a double diegetic perspective (intradiegetic and extradiegetic level). This work has adopted a narratological approach, the application of the code has been carried out in three significant scenes. From the verbal, kinesthetic and technical conventions, the positions of the dramatic conflict have been delimited. The results show that the main topic deals with the selection of information sources and news values. Additionally, the characters’ actions show the confrontation and de-liberation through the dominant roles of “watchdog” and “entertainer of public opinion”. |
