Sumario:[EN] From the third decade on the 19th century onwards, on official or particular initiatives, different projects of white colonization are designed for Cuba. The danger of africanization on the island, and the pressures in order to abolish black slave trade, justified the new colonizing policies. Within this framework, Galician immigrants of the forties and fifties made agreements aimed at the promotion of peasant colonies and at the construction of public works. Independently from their success, they constituted the immediate precedent of the later massive presence of Galicians in Cuba
