Descripción
Sumario:During the Middle Ages the predication was born destinated to the lays. The control of the same depended of the mendicant orders. The influence of the public was to be manifiest with the arrive of the Exempla, in the composition with the sermons. The Exempla were converted into the principal instruments of difusion of the penance. The image of the shipwreak facilitated the comparation with determined spiritual values closely related with the mentioned sacrament. We also find the use of the same metaphor in literature and penitential teatrise of the time. The subject ended becoming a topos, know by the public and ilustrated in some catalan gotic works of art
