Sumario:Smoking, at present implies a serious problem in society. Among women, smoking has increased in the last years, not only the developed countries but in the developing ones. In Spain, 27.2% of females over 15 smoke, being of special concern prevalence rates observed in youngsters of 16-24 years old. 42.7 of females are smokers, 2 points above males. The outcomes of a sample composed of 675 subjects of both sexes aged 18-52 are presented in this paper. They are students of the Teacher Training College of the ULPGC. The aim of this research was to discover students' attitudes towards smoking, especially women's. The information collected suggests that the perception that students have towards smoking is basically negative although women have a more positive perception than men.
