Working in confined spaces sh ould be adapted to the working procedures and to the use of individual protection equipment. In addition, the personnel who are involved in the confined space en try should be trained and inform. The objective of this study was to assess the risk involved in wine tank cleaning operations, applying it to the case of Bodega El Vi llar in the Serranos region (Valencia), analysing the prevention measures already in place. Four important requirements could be emphasised in the confined space cleaning operations, safety and health training on working i n confined spaces for workers and supervisors, presence of preventive resources outsi de the tank, use of individual protection equipment and proper ventilation.
