Results: the sensations that cause pain have been classified into “internal sensations” and “external sensations”, the former influencing the level of depression of the individuals and the latter the type of pain, observing that people with psychological pain suffer greater feelings of being judged or shame than people in pain of physical origin. Conclusions: we observed important differences in the sensations that produce pain according to its origin, which is based on social relationships.Se han analizado las sensaciones que provoca el dolor en la población española para conocer los aspectos sensoriales, emocionales y perceptivos del dolor. Métodos: encuesta transversal a 1600 personas a partir de un panel de ciudadanos, con cuotas de sexo, edad y nivel educativo. Resultados: las sensaciones que provoca el dolor se han clasificado en “sensaciones internas” y “sensaciones externas”, influyendo en las primeras el nivel de depresión de los in-dividuos y en las segundas el tipo de dolor, observando que las personas con dolor psicológico sufren mayores sensaciones de ser juzgados o de vergüenza que las personas con dolor de origen físico. Conclusiones: observamos diferencias importantes en las sensaciones que produce el dolor según su origen cuya base está en las relaciones socialesEste trabajo ha contado con la financiación del Proyecto “El dolor en su contexto social” (ref.
