Descripción
Sumario:Objectives: The sensations that cause pain in the Spanish population have been analyzed to understand the sensory, emotional and perceptual aspects of pain. Methods: cross-sectional survey of 1,600 people from a panel of citizens, with quotas for sex, age, and educational level. Results: the sensations that cause pain have been classified into “internal sensations” and “external sensations”, the former influencing the level of depression of the individuals and the latter the type of pain, observing that people with psychological pain suffer greater feelings of being judged or shame than people in pain of physical origin. Conclusions: we observed important differences in the sensations that produce pain according to its origin, which is based on social relationships.
