Descripción
Sumario:[EN]This article presents an in-depth interview with Giuseppina Torregrossa, a distinguished writer and physician from Palermo. Structured in three sections, the study examines Torregrossa’s life and career, the recurrent motifs in her oeuvre, and her contributions to contemporary Italian literature. Particular attention is devoted to the impact of her medical training on her narrative practice, her enduring ties to Sicily, and her role in representing the social and gender conditions of women. The analysis demonstrates how her novels engage with historical and gender issues, thereby articulating an original and multifaceted perspective. In so doing, the study underscores the significance of her narrative voice within the current Sicilian context and recognizes the interview as a privileged site for investigating the intersections of individual experience, professional commitment, and artistic creation.
