Moreover, and from a pathological perspective, I analyze the obsessive maternal behavior in the toxic space that Distancia de rescate depicts, both literally and metaphorically. I interpret the ambivalence and obsession of the mother-child relationship and its normalization in contemporary literary discourseDistancia de rescate (2014) de la escritora argentina Samanta Schweblin (1978), la novela corta que conforma el eje del presente análisis resulta un ejemplo paradigmático en el que confluyen varios aspectos representativos de los discursos contemporáneos de maternidad. En este ensayo, se analiza cómo se elabora y problematiza el vínculo madre-hijo/a y cómo este se construye a través de la ambivalencia en el contexto del campo argentino del siglo XXI.
