Descripción
Sumario:[EN] A preliminary catalogue of the species of Syrphidae caught in the Cantabrian Mountains (Spain) is presented. Results are based on three years (1986-1988) of systematic sampling in 40 localities, selected according to phytogeographic characteristics. A total of 171 species have been studied. The results show the great syrphidofaunistic interest of this area. This is apparent not only by the high species richness, but also because two genera (Caliprobola Rondani, 1844 and Leucozona Schiner, 1860) and 23 species have been cited for the first time for the lberian Peninsula and two new species, Cheilosia iberica Marcos-García and Claussen, 1989 and Cheilosia cantabrica Marcos-García, 1989, were described.
