Resumo:Some contemporary approaches to the problem of personal identity have mislead the role of habits and education in the constitution of this identity. For a proper conception of the developing of the self, one must tmderstand the interaction among habits, tradition and reason. A general overview of this interaction is extracted from the works of Aristotle and Maclntyre.
