Sumario:[EN] Research on the teaching of grammar in the context of writing shows the positive effects on children s writ­ing. Nevertheless, there are still few studies on grammar teaching at an early age and even less under the parameters of pedagogical grammar characterized by reflecting on use from the metalinguistic activity. In this article, we contextualize the teaching of the adjective at an early age in a writing didactic sequence based on descriptions of female literary characters, which has been carried out in two groups of students (one with 5-6 year-olds and another one with 7-8 year-olds) from a Valencian public school. The results show that children participating in the research make more use of the adjectives and, as a result, there is an improvement in the texts as children provide the information that allows the characters to be particularized.
