| Sumario: | Asian martial arts have been incorporated into Western physical culture due to several intercultural communication processes. After their introduction, over a century ago, there is a great amount of cultural output about Asian martial arts published in different formats (books, periodicals, photographs, films, sound records, etc.). The discovery, cataloguing process and study of these sources is crucial in the research of the development and meaning of any matter related to martial arts. Starting from these considerations, the aim of the present study is describing the methodological process followed in the preparation of an annotated bibliography about Asian martial arts books published in Spain since 1906 (date of publication of the first Spanish book about Asian martial arts) to the present, as well as showing the problems found in that process. |
