| Sumario: | [EN] The so-called site of the Buco del Piombo, located at the beginning of Val Bova in the municipality of Erba (Como), represents a particularly interesting environmental and historical context that has attracted the attention of antiquarians and archaeologists since the late 18th century. The presence of masonry structures from the Roman period – about which fanciful as well as improbable and ahistorical reconstructions have flourished – has to be related to the construction of a hydraulic barrage system that ensured the management of a spring water reservoir connected to an aqueduct. |
