Sumario:The ruling of the Spanish Constitutional Court of November 2012 declaring the full constitutionality of the 13/2005 law, of 1 July, amending the Civil Code in matters of law to marry, has legally enshrined marriage between persons of the same sex. A sentence that comes with seven years of delay since the filing of the appeal of unconstitutionality which brought causes, when the bitter controversy that aroused has diluted by the passage of time, although persists for the duration of their legal and sociological arguments. In this article we analyze its contents and reasoning, to try to respond to the questions that are still alive on the principle of equality, which serves as a basis for the judgment.
