| Summary: | [EN] This paper aims to place analog and digital initial sketches in parallel with the application of diagrams in the architectural design process. Both diagrams and sketches are part of architecture’s strategic and graphic heritage. Advances in parametric designs based on diagrams have represented a qualitative improvement in contemporary architectural collective thinking and have played an active role in the graphic paradigm shift.The purpose here is to compare and contrast the qualities of these two elements through recently published references and to explore their scope and effect on contemporary Architectural Graphic Expression.
