Descripción
Sumario:[EN] This chapter aims to present an archaeological perspective of different case studies in the Iberian Peninsula in order to better understand the fate of Christian churches in the early Islamic period in the Iberian Peninsula (eighth-tenth centuries). I argue for the conversion of churches into mosques, the erection of mosques upon churches, and the different processes of renewal and/ or abandonment of earlier churches as well as the construction of new ones from 711 onwards.
