| Sumario: | In this paper I intend to draw some conclusions from my ongoing study of the initial chapters of Jābir b. Aflah's al-Majistī. Although we do not possess a great deal of information on the author from external sources such as bio-bibliographical repertories, the al-Majistī itself can be used to shed light on the motivations behind its composition and on the character and background of the author. I shall endeavour to summarize these here. |
