| Resumo: | [EN] The current curriculum of the European area of higher education include a series of transverse and specific competences that students should acquire at the end of the different degrees studies. Through the process of Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) carried out in some degrees at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), was the need to assess and obtain evidence of competences, mainly transversals skills. The competence of "knowledge of contemporary issues" (CT-10) currently suffers from a lack of realization, development and evaluation in the subjects of grade for the different degrees of the Universitat Politècnica de València. The identification of contemporary issues in each of the intrinsic and extrinsic fields of knowledge of grades has to introduce a level of development and gradual implementation that suits the profile of the student in its development in graduate studies, presenting great differences in how to work this competence in the first courses respect the latest courses.
