| Summary: | [EN] The Kröller-Müller Museum hides an unprecedented architectural background. This Dutch art gallery is the result of the frustrated dream of its founders, which began in 1911 with the initial sketches by the German architect Peter Behrens. His young apprentice, Mies van der Rohe, took over the project, while Hendrik Petrus Berlage was invited to develop his own proposal. Although Berlage started the commission, Henry van de Velde would succeed him in realizing the long-desired museum, which eventually became a reality as a haven for the ambitious proposals developed over more than 20 years. This research analyzes, both theoretically and graphically, the original plans and images of the architectural proposals, using 3D models and axonometric drawings created by the authors. This study articulates an unprecedented and chronological graphic discourse, which allows a deeper understanding of each proposal, unraveling the ambitious architectural project initiated by the Kröller-Müllers to house their vast art collection. |
