Starting from his interest in mobility infrastructures railways, roads, maritime and air routes and in civil engineering works, Le Corbusier develops a reflection on technical modernity, the machinist city, and the role of collective housing. Drawing on his writings, projects, and public positions, the article traces the evolution of his thought, marked by a productive tension between plastic emotion and constructive rationality. The figure of the constructeur thus emerges as a response to fundamental collective needs, embodying both the functional demands and the poetic aspirations of modern architecture.[ES] Este artículo analiza el modo en que Le Corbusier articuló la relación entre arquitectura e ingeniería a partir del texto de 1935 Las necesidades colectivas y la ingeniería civil y en relación con la figura del constructor, visto como una síntesis del arquitecto y el ingeniero. A partir de su interés por las infraestructuras de movilidad -carreteras, ferrocarriles, marítimas y aéreas- y las obras de ingeniería civil, Le Corbusier desarrolló una reflexión sobre la modernidad técnica, la ciudad máquina y el papel de la vivienda colectiva. A partir de sus escritos, proyectos y posiciones en diversos contextos, el artículo traza la evolución de su pensamiento, marcado por una tensión productiva entre emoción plástica y racionalidad constructiva.
