Descripción
Sumario:[EN] Departing from results obtained in previous research published by Brill’s Encyclopaedia of the Qur’ān, this article explores accounts of Ibn Farḥ al-Qurṭubī’s (“The Cordoban”) (d. 671/1273) experience of exile. These accounts were excerpted from two of Qurṭubī’s most important works by the Jordanian student Mašhūr Ḥasan Maḥmūd Salmān. In what follows they are presented in Spanish translation and inserted in a more comprehensive narrative about the scholar’s life and intellectual career with the aim to reflect further on his time and place, especially as regards his training period in late Almohad al-Andalus, which would turn determining in shaping his contribution to Islamic religious sciencies, Qur’ānic exegesis very much in particular.
