Their emotional states and actions are seen as manifestations of irony and humor that have been analyzed during centuries by Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Cicero, Quintilian, Baudelaire, Bergson and Booth, among others. The clashes between life and death take place in the protagonists’ minds and lives. Their mental and real worlds are connected by the ties of irony and humor.En este trabajo, propongo el análisis de Del amor y otros demonios por Gabriel García Márquez. Los errores y las malas interpretaciones de los protagonistas generan sentimientos de amor y temor de la muerte. Sus estados mentales y acciones manifestan distintos tipos de ironía y humor que han sido estudiados durante siglos por Sócrates, Platón, Aristóteles, Cicerón, Quintiliano, Baudelaire, Bergson y Booth, entre otros. Los enfrentamientos metafóricos entre la vida y la muerte tienen lugar en las mentes y la realidad de los protagonistas.
