The formation of an ent-11a,16a-epoxykaurane of biosynthetic significance by Gibberella fujikuroi
The incubation of ent-16$-hydroxykaurane (kaurano) with Gibberella fujikuroi gave a 11$-hydroxy derivative, which had been isolated earlier from this fungus, pointing to kauranol as a new alternative to a previously postulated precursor.
