Sumario:Ecclesial synodality is rooted in the commitment of pastors and lay people to the Church-Communion. Synodality is not limited to legally stipulated forms, but is the ongoing mode of ecclesial cooperation among everyone involved in the mission of the Church. The ways in which lay people cooperate with pastors is to address and arrange temporal affairs in accordance with God’s will. This form of participation is not an optional possibility for lay people or for the Church itself. In addition, the lay faithful may paly a range of parts within the Church community, such as an advisory role.
