| Sumario: | The analytical calculation of web crippling resistance according to Eurocode 3, Part 1-3 is a problem nowadays, because the results are very different from the results of the experimental tests. The numerical calculation can help to calibrate the analytical calculation. Numerical analyses should be validated and verified. Methods of verification and validation of the numerical calculations can be carrying out experimental tests and realizing parametrical and sensitivity studies. This thesis presents a finite element model, which is focused on the web crippling resistance of trapezoidal sheeting, it is calibrated by an experimental test and is verified by different sensitivity studies. The finite element model was created in Ansys Mechanical 2019. The experimental test has been published by GRISPE in 2015. The sensitivity analyses include a mesh density study, an imperfection study, and a material model study. In this thesis all the details of this finite element model are presented, and the results of the sensitivity studies. This thesis also can serve as preparation of experimental tests in the future, for as much the test setup corresponds to the latest proposal of the Eurocode. |
