The aim of the case study carried out is to analyze the universalized implementation of the programme in a state high school in Majorca where the subject of Technology is taught in English in compulsory secondary education. The research is based on both qualitative and quantitative data, gathered mainly from questionnaires. Findings show that this approach promotes student motivation and the use of the four language skills by the learners, while highlighting a lack of qualified teachers. The role of the L1 and L2 in CLIL classrooms is also analyzedEl aprendizaje integrado de contenidos y lenguas extranjeras (AICLE) es un enfoque comunicativo basado en impartir una materia no lingüística por medio de una lengua extranjera, recomendado por las políticas europeas sobre multilingüismo. En España el programa se puso en funcionamiento por primera vez en Andalucía en el curso 1998-1999 y en Baleares en 2004-2005 con el nombre de “Secciones Europeas”. El propósito del estudio de caso que presentamos es analizar la implantación universalizada de este programa en un IES de Mallorca que imparte en inglés la asignatura de Tecnología en la ESO. La investigación se basa en datos cualitativos y cuantitativos recogidos, principalmente, a partir de cuestionarios. Los resultados muestran que este enfoque aumenta la motivación y promueve el uso de las cuatro habilidades lingüísticas por parte del alumnado, y que falta profesorado cualificado. También estudiamos el papel de la L1 y la L2 en el aula AICLEL’aprenentatge integrat de continguts i llengua estrangera (AICLE) és un enfocament comunicatiu basat en la impartició d’una matèria no lingüística per mitjà d’una llengua estrangera, recomanat per les polítiques europees en matèria de multilingüisme. A Espanya el programa es va posar en funcionament per primera vegada a Andalusia el curs 1998-1999 i a les Balears el 2004-2005 amb el nom de “Seccions Europees”. El propòsit de l’estudi de cas que presentam és analitzar la implantació universalitzada d’aquest programa a un IES de Mallorca que imparteix en anglès l’assignatura de Tecnologia a l’ESO. La recerca es basa en dades qualitatives i quantitatives recollides, principalment, a partir de qüestionaris.
