Afterwards, it focuses more precisely on the role performed by the animal within the hunting ritual as an instrument of legitimization of the social hierarchy.A partir del estudio de tratados de montería redactados en castellano entre los siglos xiv y xvi, el presente artículo pretende indagar en el proceso de «rehabilitación» del perro medieval. Con este fin, el trabajo arroja luz en la función que desempeña el can, tanto a nivel práctico como simbólico, a lo largo de la cacería con el fin de demostrar su carácter imprescindible. A continuación, se enfoca más concretamente en el papel que cumple el animal en cuanto que instrumento de legitimación del poder aristocrático dentro del ritual de la montería.Servicio de Publicaciones.
