Això fa que s’hagi, quan no era rellevant per a explicar-ne l’evolució intel·lectual, s’hagi prescindit d’explicar la vida personal de Serrallonga. Un dels objectius de la tesi ha estat establir el lligam profund que totes les manifestacions intel·lectuals de Serrallonga tenien entre elles —poesia, traducció, política, educació, etc. És a dir, estudiar en què consisteix aquella «aventura, alhora moral i verbal», que deia Joaquim Molas al pròleg de Poemes 1950-1975. El segon objectiu és situar la figura i l’obra de Serrallonga en els seus contextos —literari, polític, de pensament, etc.— Finalment s’ha mirat de donar una valoració a partir de l’obra publicada, per un cantó (especialment pel que fa a la tasca com a poeta), i, per l’altre, la quantitat ingent d’obra inèdita (en estadis i intencions molt variables) que hi ha al Fons Segimon Serrallonga de la Biblioteca Ricard Torrents de la Universitat de Vic. Aquest treball també vol aportar una primera descripció d’aquests materials inèdits utilitzats. En alguns moments, doncs, i vista la quantitat, s’ha donat prioritat a la descripció d’aquests materials per damunt de la seva interpretació, en la mesura que aquesta descripció i ordenació és un pas previ ineludible per a una bona comprensió interpretativa global de l’obra. Si bé en tots els casos, aquesta descripció s’ha acompanyat d’una contextualització dins la vida i l’obra, i, en la majora, d’una interpretació sumària.This doctoral thesis is an intellectual biography of Segimon Serrallonga, meaning that it is an attempt to trace chronologically the most relevant intellectual events in which Segimon Serrallonga was involved, either as a sole author or as a part of a common project. This means that, when it was not relevant to explain his intellectual evolution, Serrallonga’s personal life was dispensed with. One of the aims of the thesis was to establish the deep connection that all the intellectual manifestations of Serrallonga had between them —poetry, translation, politics, education, and so on. That is, to study what was that “adventure, both moral and verbal”, as Joaquim Molas said in the prologue to Poemes 1950-1975. The second objective is to place the figure and the work of Serrallonga in its contexts —literary, political, thought, etc.—. Finally, an attempt has been made to give a valuation from the published work, on one hand (especially in terms of his work as a poet), and, on the other hand, the huge amount of unpublished work (in very variable stages and intentions) in the Segimon Serrallonga Collection of the Ricard Torrents Library of the University of Vic.
