Sumario:The foundation of Gerunda was fixed chronologically, several years ago, within the third decade of the 1st century BC. Research in recent years, focused on the city and the surrounding territory, has not only served to confirm these dates but also to understand the causes and characteristics of their execution on a carefully chosen site and, immediately afterward, the appearance of the first uillae suburbanae (Pla de l’Horta, Sant Menna de Vilablareix, can Pau Birol or Bell‑lloc del Pla). This process changed the human occupation of the Pla de Girona from a fully Iberian model to a Roman one
