| Resumo: | [EN] After the demolition of the splendid Embajador Vich Palace in 1859, part of the remains of its magnificent Renaissance courtyard was inserted in the Gothic refectory of the former Convento del Carmen in Valencia in 1909. The discovery of another set of fragments of the courtyard in the Fine Arts Museum of the city triggered an initiative to take down the pieces in the refectory and reassemble them all together as a museum piece in their own right. This article defends the eclectic intervention at the turn of the last century and questions the wisdom of this double operation. |
