| Resumo: | The COVID-19 pandemic is having a large social and economic impact worldwide. At the present stage, in this project, I will use publicly available data to assess strategies undertaken by governments to mitigate impacts while preserving the health of the population. This paper consists of two parts connected with a current state of data taken from open public sources. In the first part, I implement D models to the real data to forecast a future state of death numbers in Spain. In the second part, I use Oxford COVID-19 Government Response Tracker with the real data to evaluate the effects of different policies on death numbers and daily new cases. I will show that the most effective policies to mitigate the effects of COVID-19 will be restrictions on gathering policy, facial mask protection policy and stay at home policy. Overall, this paper suggests that the government anti-pandemic responses have substantial effects on preserving the health of the population |
