Sumario:Several of the questions about the history of the Latin Bible in the Hispanic High Middle Ages that still await fully satisfactory answers have to do with systematic research into the paratextual elements associated with the so-called «Hispanic editions» of the Bible (those associated with the names of Peregrinus, Isidore of Seville, Theodulf of Orleans or Oliba of Ripoll). This paper reviews and updates the data collected by Dümmler, Berger, De Bruyne, Quentin, Ayuso and Stegmüller on the characteristics and manuscript tradition of two prologues transmitted by the bibles of Theodulf of Orleans, namely the poem Quicquid ab Hebreo... and the preface Vetus Testamentum ideo... (RB nn. 298 and 299). The purpose of this revision and updating is precisely to contribute to enlighten our knowledge of the history of the Latin biblical text in the Hispanic sphere.
